A visiting student is someone who is currently enrolled at another university, has completed at least one college semester, and plans to return to that university in the fall. Visiting students are not required to submit an application fee or transcripts. At the end of the session, students must request that their grades be reported by transcript to their respective schools. This option is only for undergraduate students and financial aid is not available. Visiting students may need to submit a transcript if a particular course requires proof of a pre-requisite.

NOTE: Students at MU, UMKC and Missouri S&T do not need to apply...you can register for summer courses directly from your campus student portal.

Students enrolled at other four-year universities or community colleges may transfer to UMSL during the summer semester. Applicants with 24 or more transferable, college credit hours at the time of application need only submit official transcripts from the universities where they have earned credit. Those with fewer than 24 hours will also need to submit high school transcripts reflecting composite ACT scores.

A lifelong learner is someone who is interested in taking classes for personal or professional development, but not wanting a degree from UMSL. To get started, complete the application for admission and mark "non-degree-seeking". Non-degree-seeking students are not required to submit transcripts.
